Obesity: An Overview
Obesity is a condition where a person has so much excess body fat. It can lead to diabetes, heart diseases, hypertension, and other chronic illnesses. Obesity is usually defined by the body mass index (BMI), which is a statistical measurement derived from a person’s height and weight. If an adult got a score of above 30, they are considered as obese.
There are many reasons why people can become obese. Here are some of the leading causes:
1. Unhealthy diet
You gain weight when you overeat, especially if you consume more calories than you burn. Also, people who regularly eat food that are high in fat and sugar are more prone to be overweight.
2. Lack of physical activity
Due to the emergence of technology, many people spend a lot of time just sitting and lying down. However, leading an inactive lifestyle may increase one’s risk to illnesses such as hypertension and cancer. If you don’t move a lot, the energy you get from the food you eat will be stored as fat.
Not everybody can burn off calories easily. Genetics may influence how fast or slow a person digests food. It’s true that it may make someone have difficulty losing weight, but it’s not completely impossible.
The best ways to treat obesity are to follow a balanced diet, and to start an active lifestyle. Also, it will help a lot if you talk to someone about it, just like family members or very close friends. And if you take Formoline L112 four tablets a day, losing weight will be a lot easier!
